Who we are
Purrfolio is made and operated by AI-yo, Aignite Enterprise ("we", "us"). We are the party responsible for the personal information described in this policy.
What we collect
To use Purrfolio you create an account with an email address and password, or sign in with Google or Facebook. Beyond that, nearly everything we hold is information you type or choose to add yourself.
| Information | What it is used for | Where it is stored |
|---|---|---|
| Account details | Creating your account and signing you in. With email sign-up this is your email address and password; your password is stored only in scrambled (hashed) form. With Google or Facebook it may include your email address, name, profile picture and that provider's identifier for you. | Our cloud authentication service (Supabase). |
| Sign-in session | Keeping you signed in until you sign out. | Your device. |
| Households and membership | A household is the shared space your cats and records belong to. We store its ID, its name and its private invite code, and which accounts are members and whether each is an owner or a member. Other members of the household can see your email address. | Our cloud database. The household ID is also kept on your device. |
| Cat details and photos | Showing each cat's profile, photo gallery and age. | Your device and our cloud database. |
| Weight, food and litter logs | Charts, stats and supply estimates, including any brand, price and store you enter. | Your device and our cloud database. |
| Health events and reminders | The calendar and reminders, including dates, vet or clinic name, price and notes you enter. | Your device and our cloud database. Reminder notifications are scheduled on your device only. |
| Settings | Remembering reminder on/off and time, your weight unit and your active household. | Your device only. |
| Technical data | Your IP address and the time of each request are visible to the servers that deliver the app's data. This is how any internet connection works. | Server logs kept by our hosting provider. |
Notes you enter and photos you add may contain things you consider personal. We do not look for or analyze them, but please avoid adding information you would not want stored.
How we use it
We use this information only to run Purrfolio for you:
- to create your account, sign you in and send the one-time confirmation email when you sign up with an email address;
- to display your cats, logs, calendar and photos, including to the other members of your household;
- to calculate stats and charts, such as weight trends and supply estimates;
- to schedule the reminders you turn on; and
- to keep the service working and secure.
We do not use your information for advertising or profiling, and Purrfolio contains no analytics or advertising tools.
Where your data lives
On your device
The app keeps a local copy of your records so it opens quickly. If the app cannot reach the cloud database, it may save changes on your device only. Records created that way stay on that device and are not uploaded later.
In the cloud
When the app can connect, your account, households, records and photos are stored with Supabase, our service provider, which provides both the database and the sign-in service. Supabase's servers may be located outside your country.
If you used an earlier version
Earlier versions of Purrfolio did not have accounts and identified your records by a random household ID created on your device. The first time you sign in, that household is attached to your account so your existing records stay with you, unless another account has already claimed it, in which case you start with a new, empty household.
Households and sharing
Every account belongs to at least one household, and all cats and records live inside a household. A household can have more than one member, for example partners or housemates caring for the same cats.
- Members see everything in the household. Anyone who is a member can view and change that household's cats, logs, events and photos, and can see the email addresses of the household's other members.
- Joining needs an invite code. Each household has a private invite code that only its owners can see. Anyone you give the code to can join, so share it only with people you trust. The household's internal ID is not a way in.
- Owners stay in control. An owner can generate a new invite code at any time, which stops the old one working, and can remove members who are not owners from the household in the app. A removed member can no longer load the household's records from the cloud, although a copy cached on their own device may remain there until they clear the app's cached data or uninstall it.
- Joining and leaving are your choice. You can switch between households you belong to and leave any household that has other members. If you are its only owner when you leave, ownership passes to the member who has been in it longest. If you join someone else's household, your records for it are visible to its members.
If someone has access you did not intend, generate a new invite code and remove them under Settings → Household → Members & invite code. You can also contact us and we will help.
Camera, photos and notifications
Purrfolio asks for these permissions only when you use a feature that needs them. You can turn any of them off in your device settings at any time.
- Camera. Used only when you choose to take a photo of a cat, a supply or a vet record. The photo is saved in Purrfolio.
- Photo library. Used only when you pick existing photos to add. Purrfolio receives only the photos you select, not your whole library.
- Notifications. Used to show the event and supply reminders you set. They are scheduled locally on your device and do not require a push-notification server.
Purrfolio does not record audio and does not use your location or contacts.
Third-party services
Supabase
Supabase provides the database, storage and account sign-in described above and processes your information on our behalf. Their handling of data is described in the Supabase privacy policy.
Sign in with Google or Facebook
If you choose Google or Facebook, the app opens that provider's sign-in page in a browser window. You enter your password there, not in Purrfolio, and we never see it. The provider learns that you signed in to Purrfolio, and sends us the basic profile details described above. We do not request your friends list, posts or messages. The provider's own policy governs what it does with its side of the sign-in: see the Google Privacy Policy and the Meta Privacy Policy.
Web version only
When you use Purrfolio in a web browser, your browser loads fonts from Google Fonts and a code library from the jsDelivr content network. Those services receive your IP address and browser details as part of serving the files. The mobile app bundles its fonts and does not make these requests.
App stores
If you install Purrfolio from the Apple App Store or Google Play, those stores collect their own information under their own policies.
Keeping and deleting data
We keep your account and records until you delete them or ask us to. From inside the app you can:
- Delete a cat to permanently remove that cat along with its weight logs, health events and photos. Food and litter entries are kept as household supply records but are no longer linked to that cat.
- Remove a photo or event to delete just that item.
- Sign out to end your session on that device.
- Clear cache in Settings to remove the local copy kept on your device.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account yourself in the app: open Settings → Account → Delete account and confirm. This takes effect immediately and cannot be undone. There is also a page that explains the steps and how to ask us to delete your account if you cannot open the app.
- Your account details and your membership of every household are deleted.
- Households where you are the only member are deleted with all of their cats, logs, events and photos.
- In a household shared with other people, the cats and records stay with the remaining members, because they belong to the whole household. If you were the only owner, ownership passes to the member who has been in it longest. Delete the cats and photos you added first if you do not want them to remain.
If you cannot use the app, email us at the address below from the email address on the account (or tell us which Google or Facebook account you used) and we will delete the account within 30 days.
Deleted information may remain in our provider's routine backups for a limited time until they are overwritten. If you were signed in on other devices, they lose access the next time they connect, and uninstalling the app there removes any cached copy.
Uninstalling the app removes the local copy and your sign-in from that device, but it does not delete your account or your cloud records. Sign back in at any time to see them again.
Security
Data is sent to the cloud over encrypted connections, and email passwords are stored only in hashed form. Choose a strong, unique password, and keep your household's invite code private since it lets others join your household.
Your rights
You can view and edit everything you have added directly in the app, and delete it, or your whole account, as described above. Depending on where you live, such as the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or California, you may also have the right to ask us for a copy of your information, to correct it, to delete it, or to object to or restrict how it is used. To make a request, contact us below. If you are unhappy with our response, you may also complain to your local data protection authority.
If you signed in with Google or Facebook, you can also remove Purrfolio's access at any time from the security or apps settings of that account. Doing so ends the connection but does not by itself delete your Purrfolio records, so contact us if you want those removed as well.
Children
Purrfolio is intended for general audiences and is not directed at children under 13, and you must be old enough to hold an account with the sign-in method you choose. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account or added personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Purrfolio changes. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If a change materially affects how your information is handled, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect.
